Mykala Black, MS, MFT
I offer a steady place to land. My work is quiet, integrative, and deeply relational, grounded in the belief that therapy does not need to be performative to be powerful. Real change happens when you feel truly seen, understood, and supported, not rushed or pushed toward quick fixes. I aim to create a space where you can slow down, reflect, and show up as you are without pressure to have everything figured out.
I work with individuals, couples, and families through a trauma informed lens. To me, this means understanding how past experiences, both significant and subtle, shape how we relate to ourselves and others. Our nervous systems learn ways to protect us, often very early on, and those strategies can linger long after they stop being helpful. Together, we take time to understand these patterns with curiosity rather than judgment, so they can loosen their grip and make room for new possibilities.
In therapy, we will gently explore the ways you learned to cope, connect, and survive, and consider what you need now. This might include strengthening emotional awareness, improving communication, repairing relationships, or developing a greater sense of safety in your body and in your life. The work unfolds at a pace that feels respectful and sustainable, with attention to both insight and lived experience.
If you are looking for therapy that feels thoughtful, attuned, and grounded, I invite you to reach out. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, your relationship, or your family, we can talk about what you are hoping for and whether working together feels like a good fit. You do not have to navigate this alone, and support is available when you are ready.
